Its all claptrap hearsay. VW wouldnt have copyrighted the R36 name and developed a 3.6 litre engine for nothing.

And that photo is just yet another photoshopped image based on the GTI concept.

 

whos to say that the R36 will be a golf tho?? did read a while back that VW are planning to make the R spec a feature of their whole line up. whos to say there wont be a passat R36 to go against the M3. that would be sweet.

 

VW have already announced that they will be creating R branded versions of their other cars.

The R32 pics are all photoshops though. Wait for an official VW press release. Im sure we'll see what VW have lined up after the GTI at the Frankfurt Motorshow later in the year.

 

Agreed. It's almost exactly like the GTI Concept, minus a few bits of black trim.
