I'm in Portsmouth, have done a 20vt conversion with QPEng's set up, the MBE 992 ecu, and have bad running problems. I basically need a competent vw tuning specialist who knows these engines and would be able to fault code find on the MBE and if required remap it, rolling road the car etc and sort it all out for me basically.

What are my options? JKM are on my door step but don't have the MBE software. I'm willing to accept that I may have to travel an hour or so to get somewhere for this.

    Cheers

    Luke

Bad kangarooing/misfiring under part throttle accompanied by a strange squeal, and under full throttle drives smooth but nothing like full power/boost. 70 miles out of 20 worth of V Power too, which to me seems excessive? Doesn't like to idle for a while on cold start either.

It was all bought as a kit from Qpeng afaik, with map sensor presumably. I actually bought it all off a mate who bought it straight from QP.

shame youre at the opposite end of the country to me as ive got the lead to see whats what... best bet is to buy this and then you can see exactly whats happening.

However, the engine runs badly when the coolant sensors at fault. The coolant sensor is a fundamental part of the QPENG stsyem (I have qpeng on mine so i do know what im talking about :) )

Sounds to me the same issues i had and that turned out to be the wiring to the sensor, however a faulty sensor will also throw up the same conditions.

For the sake of a tenner, its worth replacing the coolant sensor for a 'green' sensor this is the revised version as the 'black' version is known to be weak and often fails.... you can get them off ebay easy enough.

Though if you had the CAN box to connect it to your laptop itd show this straight away, and or any other element at fault
