Aye, 290 Fully Comp for me (39 full 9 yrs protected NCB), still a bloody rip off compared to 157 for my 900SS with only 2 or 3 yrs NCB. I feel the need to go FC as I did once have a Metro, on FC and bought a Citroen BX to replace it, got TPFF on it and planned to swap them around at some point then some cnut in an Audi rammed me and did 750 worth of damage to my 800 car, no witnesses so only got half the money. If that had been FC I would have had it fixed right away, might have lost some NCB through something that wasn't my fault but WTF? I would have had a car in one piece again.
Nope, HIC wanted an extra 150 - 200 depending on the time of day when I rang. I see what you mean about modifying the car but mines only had a new exhaust and a couple of subtle cheap mods so no point for FC. If you're creating a showcar then yeah FC and agreed value but I'm a tight ar$e
Compare that with what I'm paying Liverpool Victoria (who were the cheapest, and most reasonable by far!). 30 years old, no claims or convictions, 9 years' NCB, no performance mods, IAM. 590 Fully Comp. But then again, I do live in the middle of Manchester ... Oh, and TPFT was actually more expensive than FC ?!? Edited by: AndrewD
I also do it since when I can afford a newer car (S4 hopefully in a few years), I'm not gonna have to face a huge jump to go fully comp. A bit of a false economy I know. Also, public transport is sooo inconvenient round here and I work shifts, so no car is not an option for any length of time... just extra piece of mind. Cheers for the PM ACF8181, I do most of that already. I seem to be able to insure the mk2 (slightly modded - only chassis though) for X amount, and then a much newer, much faster (non-modded) car for X+50. Crazy really. I'm really hankering over an S2 now. If I'm gonna get raped like this, I might as well be able to smoke a few fast cars while I'm at it. Fordo! Edited by: cforehead
