hi! not good with computers but here we go. just built my mk 2 golf but having problems trying to get the right wheels to fit.
first of all i have used ful mk3 vr6 running gear.
    the engine is 20vt.
fitted borbet a replicates but the wheel stuck out of the arch by 70mm with 20mm spacer
    to clear the brake caliper.
    the wheels were 8j 16 et20 fronts
    rear 9j 16 et30.
looking on the net alot of people are using borbet wheels.
    looking for some advise.

Ideally you'll be wanting to look at wheels with an offset around et40-50 to fit under standard arches. At the moment, with the spacers fitted, your wheels have an offset of et0. You can fit G60 plastic arches and cut away the metal underneath, and dial in a bit of negative camber to tuck the top of the tyre in as well.

hi luke thanks for the advise.
so bbs wheels with et of 35 should fit without to much sticking out.
if the wheels fit over the vr6 callipers ill get rid of the spacers.

no as the front arch lips have been trimmed right back, and the rear arches have been rolled

also the 17s are wearing 195/40/17 tyres and the borbets are wearing 195/45/16 tyres, 215/40 were fitted on the borbets but this did have clearence issues on the rear

hi you said you have 9j but what are the et on the wheels.
by the way looks nice on the wheels.
i'm still debating on what colour to do my car.the kit your refering to
is g60 arches which are wider than standerd.
did you by any chance buy your car from pontefract area.
