will a mk2 golf gti 4 branch maifold fit a mk1?

have just bought a 1983 mk1 golf gti, and have been offered a brand new mk2 golf gti manifold, will it fit straight on? or will it need modifying?

The manifold itself would fit on the engine but if it's an OE cast manifold the outlet would not marry up to the standard Mk1 downpipe and if it is a tubular manifold for a Mk2 it will not fit in the Mk1 chassis.
