Anyone know if a set of mim1900 15x7 et25 running 195/50 tyres will fit on a mk2 driver lowered 60mm all round without any rubbing issues?

    Thanks

ET25 will be fine, ET13 will not especially at the back. I had et13mims on mine and unless car was empty it rubs at the back. also rubbed over bumps. up front i hacked my arches out completly and just got enough room, but it still rubbed over bumps. looked cool though

Weird, i'm in bracknell to mate. I literally bought them yesterday but havent fit them yet as car is locked up in my mates garage at the minute. so changing the profile of the tyres is not an option then?

I've got a set of them cheap nasty TA Technics coilovers and some G60 topmounts that need fitting after I have finished the bodywork and put the car through an MOT. It's Only a 1.6 Driver with Big Bumpers. I bought them from a person in Colchester on the vw mk2 owners forum. They came with 2 195/50 Continental's, 1 195/50 Michelin all with good tread and another thats shot to pieces. looks like it rubbed very hard. lol

Nah, thats not me. I have a 3door white mk2 1989' on a G. It was supposed to be a little project which I bought a year ago for 500 quid before realising there was quite a lot of work to be done. so far I have re-sprayed both the front wings and bumper. Currently repairing some rust on the n/s arch and boot. Then Spraying that. Cars been off the road for a year but is almost done now. Just finding the time to do it and have no space so using my friends garage.

I'm thinking Polished lip with red centres for the MIM's :p

This is what whitey' currently looks like.

In the long run I would love a mint 90's spec alpine white 3 door valver. Always keeping my eye out for one!

The two fronts are not road worthy. Very bald. Bought the car with them like it. The rear have a little overspray too. So if you need a set to just to roll around on for doing work on your car I could lend you them no problem, once my mims are on that is. I May sell them, I just want them as a back up incase the mims rub reallly bad!![:s]

When you say 'hacked out' did you actually cut these out with an angle grinder or similar? My et12 Compomotive MO's were due to get some 205/50 R888's; do you suggest that I go for a rethink? I don't care about cutting the steel, but I'd like to get a heads up on the work that I can expect to undertake.

    Thanks
