    Hi all,

I just want to find out will this be legal and not?

I need to run these adapters, which will be 4x100>5x120 to suit my wheels and these are the slimmest I can get, which are 20mm.

My wheels are 9.5 x 16 ET24 and maybe will be will 20mm adapters.

Here is a pic of them without adapters:

Here is a pic with them on:

Any ideas what I can do?

Or shall I just get my hubs drilled for a 5th hole and run 5 or 10mm spacers?

    Cheers

    Bobby

You should see how much mine stick out the rear of my Mk2 Bobby. 9.5 on the back, 8.5 on the front.

Sure you saw it at Ace Cafe the other night ;)

I think you can get done for it. They are supposed to be in line with the arch I think.

I've seen far worse though so I wouldn't worry :)

There is no law on how far a wheel is allowed to stick out from the bodywork

Cheers Rich, tell you the truth cannot remember the streach on your car, but was a bit when I think about it. I will probably need to get my hubs drilled for the fifth hole.

You going to Westside on the 29th?

Here's a mental idea...try wheels and tyres that fit... ;)

I'm not adverse to a mild bit of stretch (I ran 195s on 8Js on my Mk2), but the rim fully exposed like that just looks cr*p IMHO, and then to add spacers/adaptors and have it it even further outside the arch just makes it all the worse.

I always thought it was "illegal" to have the tyre outside the arch, but even if it isn't I'm pretty sure you wouldn't get far past a cop before getting a tug...

mot fail if tyres/tread not covered by an arch, needs to be covered even with arch extenders ;)

I have managed to solve my problem now, I noticed it had adapters on the car initially, but the guy who I bought it off did not have the right ones.

So now I have ordered the right ones, which are 4x100>5x120, so will sit as the original picture was. The car will also have a bit of negative camber on the rear as well.

Thanks for all the input guys and girls.

    Cheers

Sorry don't go with that , in my country its an instant (wof) mot failure ,and to me it makes sense,as for the tyre stretch don't start me,your set-up is downright unsafe.
Maybe more suitable if you had a low rider in east L.A.(USA)
