will this fix my sloppy gear change?

    no mate, as the advert says fits mk2/mk3 golf gti (not 16v vr6 or g60) :lol:

    what would make my gearchange more normal again then?

    Most german car parts motorfactors (such as Euro Car Parts, etc...) sell gear linkage refurb kits quite cheaply that have all the little plastic pieces that wear and degrade over time.

    16v is a cable change, not rod, so those kits from GSF are no good. The sloppiness is just a characteristic of the mk3 shifter, it's terrible and there's nothing you can do about it - I'm looking for a mk4 one as an upgrade.

    but moves about an inch side to side when in gear lol something is not right!

    New cables could help, but they are about 80 a piece. I'd leave it, mate. :)
