just bought a gearbox which came out 0f 1989 gti 8v.(pb engine) mine is a 1990 gti 8v(pb).the only reason i ask is because the reverse sensor is different on the 2 boxes? and on the one i just bought it hasnt got the metal clip to hold my sel adjusting clutch cable,as the car it came of had a manual cable? can i just swap the reverse sensors and put old sensor on the new box? cheers
yep, swap the reverse switch as the plug changed in 1990, and swap the clutch cable holder over too if it bothers you Before you fit it though check the gearbox code, its on the flat part at the bottom of the bellhousing. std 8v gti will be ACD or AUG
