    Hi guys,

Recently had a Cobra 3000 Series installed on my car, but the dealership wanted 100 extra for full window closure, so I turned that down.

I've seen on ebay some window closure units. Some unbranded, and some by Cobra. How easy are these to install. Would anyone have any instructions I can look at before I buy one.

    Thanks.

Yeh, its for my Mk2. Sorry, whats IRC?

I've seen them for about 20 on ebay. Do I wire them into the switches (ie. live)?

    Thanks.

Just thought. Do the windows have to work with the ignition off, or can I wire the closure box in so it will still work whenever?

Windows will not work with ignition off that is why you need the closure unit to power them up

    Another question I'm afraid...

Do I need to have the Cobra alarm programmed and adjusted if I added a window closure module, or would it just work if all was wired up correctly.

Thanks. So I don't need to have the main alarm reprogrammed or anything?

Right, I'm having some problems. Picked up a used Cobra 2980 window closure unit, and I'm 99.99% sure I've wired it in correctly, joining to the brown wire to the other brown wire from my Cobra 3190 alarm box.

Now, the windows aren't winding up when arming the alarm. The voltage to the motor jumps up and down for a split second but thats it.

Cobra reckon I need to adjust the alarm settings - something to do with the pulse time. Does this sound right?

Test the wires at the switch ( the motor wires ) what do they rest at with ignition off ?

Negative ? im sure last ones i did rest at nothing so you need to power pos and neg to lift

    Ian

Are you sure the A,B,C diagrams are the correct way around looking at the wiring A is top left

That's what Cobra supplied me, unless of course it is wrong...?

Wanting to bring this back up...like a bad kebab.

Can someone tell me which diagram to use. Does it look like Cobra may have the diagrams wrong, and that whilst description A is correct, that perhaps diagram labels A and C are in fact the wrong way around?

(Mods - maybe move this to electrical now?)

    Very much so!

I've only fitted it to the drivers window for now, but I don't often use the passenger side anyway. It's quite cool really :)
