window wont wind down? mk2 golf gti

just tried to open my window and the handle just keeps going round and round but the window wont go down
.the handle is definatly tight to the srew thing that its attached too?

also car in 1990 mk2 golf gti

 

Regulator fecked ? or handle it isn`t turning it.
Take doorcard off and have a look.New regulators are quite cheap from GSF or ECP.

 

i took the door card off.put the handle back on and the handle is definatly turning ok and roting the bit that is conected to the handle.but it wont move the glass.

also how easy to fit a new regulater and how much roughly will one set me back?

Just back from the pub - been tryin to flick that flea off the screen for 5 mins...

 

ok think ill just get one from gsf then.

how easy to change?and can someone please try and explain how this works and an easy ish guide to removing/fitting new one?

take off the door handle window winder and screws round the edge of door trim panel. remove trim panel and peel back plastic, look at it,figure it out, do it

you will need a phillips screwdriver and an adjustable spanner
