Hi,once again it looks like the mk1 has thrown me another electrical problem(like I've not sorted enough)
My wipers work ok,pull on the stalk and washer pump does nothing..
This is what I've tried so far, got a new pump and nothing happens, ive put a multimeter on the plug
While pulling the stalk and it's showing NO voltage.[:x]
    (P.s it's an 82 cabby).

no you can still use the stalk, but i thought you could do this to found out if its the wire going to the fuse box if its the brown and blue then you have a problem i think that wire go`s to the stalk

It's a strange one as it was working(squirting) when I got the car in June.its not been driven only worked on since.
Problem is its stopping me getting an mot as it failed today on that.and one other electrical fault not quite so bad
Just a bad Earth on n/s rear bulb holder making the lights do strange things.eg indicator flashes sort of normal
Maybe a bit quicker than normal.press brake pedal and indicator stays orange without flashing[:s]
    Bad earth ?????
Appart from that I like my mk1 but I'm not keen on its electrics,

take the plastic trims off the column and look at the base of the wiper stalk, operate the washers. note the electrical contacts that you can see, give a slight bend and buff up the contact points :)

Sorry for your efforts in helping me sort this.there was never anything wrong with it I forgot I had two plugs as it
Used to have headlight washers and I used the wrong plug:o(what a dumbass).
Other problem with the rear light is also sorted(extra earth to body sorted that)
So its ready for re-test hopefully tomorrow.
And then Stanford hall this weekend bring on the summer[:D]
