wire colours

    hello
    im new on here my name is john and i drive a vento
    can somone help me please? i have a stereo that i want to fit but the plugs have been cut off. also the car itself has at some time in its life had the plugs removed.
    i dont have a haynes manual for this car so is it possible that somebody can tell me what wires are what and what colour they are. ive sorted all the speaker wires there not a prob.
    its the power wires i need to sort. i have the manual for the stereo so that aint a prob.

    Hi,

    The main (continuous, or '30') power lead is Red-white, fused from F22.

    Despite the colour, Brown-red shows 12v with a key in the ignition barrel.

    Grey-blue is the lighting feed.

    Plain Brown for earth.

    The Vento uses the rear screen heating wires as an aerial, so a black wire is used to supply power to the amplifier module.

    Blue-white is a 'speed signal' input.

    thanks for your help mate. its all wired in now [:D]
    only problem i had was the micro switch inside my ignition barrel must have come away i wont work off the ignition when the key is turned. so ive put it on perminant live.
    just taking a bit of getting used to having to turn it off everytime i park up lol
