I have tried searching but cannot find anything....

Are there different wishbone sizes about? - as in the length between the chassis mounts? ... or the wishbone 'width'...

Just taken my two wishbones off, and they are slightly different. One of the rear bushes wasnt seated fully home and that must be the reason - its about 2-3mm shorter than the other [:s]

    Ill get a picture tomorrow.
Ideally I want the longer ones  that fit.

Interesting link, but I reckon it'll make no difference. It looked like a fitment variation of the rear bush lug, but the pressed steel should mean the balljoint is in the same place. As the front mount locates the wishbone, the rear isn't dictating wheelbase.

Thanks for that. Looks like a manufacturing error there maybe? On the rear lug, as Chris says.

Mine is a bit different [:s]
Pictures will speak 1000 words, Ill get some tomorrow

    Thanks again

all mk1 bones should be the same, just a manufacture error there

realised the angle of the wider shot doesn't help. Sorry!

Fixing mine made a huge difference. The variation in mine forced the wishbone out of the standard front mount as the pictures in my link illustrate clearly. Handling when braking hard was erratic to say the least. Fixed it with the welder and installed two poly bushes and it made a massive change.
