just replaced the boot on my near side cv joint, popped it all back on and noticed a load of play up and down the shaft (i.e. you could slip the cv up and down by about 3/4 of an inch) but none in any other direction. it's a pretty new cv and and as far as I can tell nothing was left off when I reassembled it also now the hub nuts are done up it seems to have a couple more threads showing than the other side. is this something I should be worried about? if so waht exactly could it be? would rather fix it before I track her up than have to do the job twice. cheers all
