Ok so there is a cracking/clunking noise from the front of my car, i knew the cv boot was gone and i hit a kerb the other night and really took a chunk out of my alloy but didnt do any noticeable damage.

Now a few days later when i accelerate and let off it clunks, and when i turn when im only moving slowly or stationary it cracks like mad.

I know its probably the cv boot, because i know its gone, but it just seems like too much play etc for the cv boot, any other suggestions?

    MK2 8v by any chance ? ?

Sounds like front engine mount to me.

Easy fix in 10 mins ( don't forget to support the bottom of the lump.... )

Get a 16v front mount whilst your at it - simple mod and better unit GFS has em'

Get it fixed - your putting strain on your zorst manifold......

The cracking sounds like the cv joint is knackered mate.
