in thinking if u unplug wires from the maf from a mk3 93 gti 8v when the cars running and the engine cuts out that means the maf is ok?
It won`t prove anything! That would be like saying `would pulling the plug off the headlight, and having the light go out prove the bulb was OK`! The engine would cut out (or idle very roughly) when you unplug the MAF, whether it was faulty or not.
Scope its output at various operating conditions, and compare to a known working unit or the specifications?
