just wondering if a panhard rod would be beneficial on a mk1?

i just had a look at a micra k11 and saw that it had one fitted as standard. i know many cars have but i wouldnt expect it on a micra. [:s]

What makes you think it's relevant to a Mk1?

Post up some pictures of the Micra suspension.

Don't confuse Panhard rods on Group 4 Escorts with mainstream production superminis.

The rear of micra's are 5 link just like a typical live axle set up with coil springs. The Panhard rod controls the lateral movement of this axle.

The bit in white is the Panhard rod

Adding a Panhard rod is not relevant to a Mk1 as it’s a different axle set up. On a mk1 the lateral movement is controlled by the swing arms which are welded to the torsion box.
