I wondered who would be the first to say 'im bidding on them'!

I dont think im gona find out in time anyways, so might hold out for some others. Plus theyve got balloon tyres on them, was going to stick some 195/50s on them anyway, so might be cheaper just to source the rims from somewhere! But I think they might look quite good stuck on a lowered mk3!

The audi pepperpots fit on mk3 288mm break setup dont they, so Im guessing the fitment of these shouldnt be too different

I'm not sure but I think Matt82 runs the pepperpots & I cant see him running the weedy 280s- best to check with him though.

matt has 280mm brakes. The standard gti wheels which are 15" are very tight on the calipers of 288's, could always use spacers though I guess?

I have 288's on standard wheels. Balance weights get a bit scuffed by the caliper.

I have the pepperpots and 288's. They fit absolutley fine, look a bit tight though but I don't have any marks on my calipers or the inside of the wheels.

i could take a pic of mine with the early VR6 wheels, its almost scary how close the calipers are to the inside of the wheel! :o

Yeh do you have any pics of pepperpots on 288, would be interested to see if they are the same as the BBS I have.

Do you reckon if 15" pepperpots fit, the ones I linked would be the same sort of fitment? Its a pain that there is no real way to work out caliper clearance other than buy them and suck eggs if they dont fit.

You better get some now, took ages to get a good enough shot with the car on the ground :p
You can jsut make out the balance weight to the left of the bottom picture.

That is the same ridiculous clearance as my vr6 bbs wheels! About 1mm if you're lucky - except mine seems to be from the font of the caliper to the face of the wheel where it is tightest, im not so sure how tight it is to the edge of the wheel - ill have to check!

Looks good with those pepperpots on though, and in the best colour - black! But with too few doors!! :p ]

There is a set going on egay with newish yokohama tyres for a reasonable price, but im thinking the reason he is selling is cos of the tyres, ive heard they are supposed to be terrible for this time of the year, rain and in the wet etc. Wrong time to sell them perhaps...

Ok then. Not as good though as I've just taken it. The car is manky and half the side skirt is missing on this side [:$] .
