Would you buy a Cat C mk2?

    Cat c simply means cost of repair exceeds 100% of estimated value of car

    Cat d means cost exceeds 70%

    it does not mean anything regarding type of damage

    buying that 16v wouldnt bother me in the slightest being cat C

    No problem. Loads have hidden hostories and several I've bought I haven't even looked at first hand

    Nail on head Gambit, the car looks perfect why on earth would anyone want to break it?

    Supposed to be an enthusiasts site[:s]

    Buy that car or at least make sue it goes to a good home, I'd give my left nut for a Mk2 like that!
