RS3 ... http://www.pistonheads.com/news/general-pistonheads/audi-rs3-pricing-confirmed/31626 After a first read ... nooooo http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/audi-rs3-review-first-drive-2015-01-22 After a reality check ... maybe In considering the 40k tag, I recall paying 16k for a new Mk2 16v GTI back in `91`
I have a problem with Audi, they all look bland to me! We were on the lookout for a new estate a few months ago for a company car and went in to have a look. They had them all lined up in the showroom like a car park (this seems to be the same in all Audi dealers) and the colours were boring and they all looked the same at the front. I could not tell what I was looking at. We went for an e-class in the end but I did sit in an A45 AMG, what a car!
Think I'll wait till they drop in price They seem to hold their price well three year old rs3's are still sitting around 30k You do get the odd private sale at 26 to 27k So can still live in hope lol
TBH, as much as I own an Audi, this latest RS3 looks just as an A3 Sportline IMO. I have driven the old RS3 and TTRS and they do go and sound epic! However not a fan of this car's looks. Just me though.
Agree with the bland modern trend but this one, on paper looks better. I prefer a plain, no frills approach ... no badges, chrome trim, red trim ... just decent wheels, seats and a circular steering wheel with only one function button ... guessing that that is not going to happen the B5 S4 will just have to do lol
I am not a big fan of the new Audi A3 S3/RS3 , I would prefer to get the Mercedes A45 if I had the choice. On the other hand when looking at estates I would definitely go for a new S4/RS4.. Hopefully one day my prayers will be answered
To me the last 'phat' looking Audi 3er was the 8L S3... RS4, RS6 are the ones I would really love to own one day, if I could afford the running costs.
Have lasting memories of an RS6 Avant test drive (all day !) back in 2004 ... insufficient cooling capacity for towing knocked it off the list Nothing to do with running costs, honest lol
I had a friend with one of those but a saloon and had it fettled to 600bhp. Monster was not enough to describe that thing.
that would bring a smile to my face all day long i'd love a rs6 but running it would kill me most things i could deal with it's just the gearbox problems you hear off would put me off think you have to factor that in when you buy one any manual gearbox swop options for them ?
ZF from a tractor ! ? http://www.pistonheads.com/classifi...udi-rs6-quattro-avant------------2003/3330391 Now look what you / we have started lol
better tell my work to get their finger out i'll be needing some overtime lol i'd love that maybe one day not a bad price when you think about it wonder what all the 12k was
I remember paying 24,000+ for a basic 90 20V Q back in 1991. Now, if they made them again, in 2 door format, I would rob a bank to buy one.
If only the insurance was affordable on one.... Having just bought a 8p S3 I love it Gen4 haldex is fairly seamless in it's interaction with the car in normal use. Yes the s lines look similar but the "lack of" ride quality and go of the s3 remind you why you spent the extra cash. Im sure a new rs3 will be even more fun
I don't agree with your perception, actually liking these cars or these big brands deals with your choice and comfort. If you have set your mind for something so oit becomes your first choice.
Lots of people on here are saying that the Audis look bland. That's not my perception! To me they look over tarted-up with weird shaped lights, front and rear, pointless curved grooves in the body panels (A5), blingy chrome trim on air vents, etc. It looks like half a dozen separate stylists were given different parts of the car and there is no cohesion in the overall design. The original TT, and A2, designs were clean and were as close as possible to 'Form Follows Function'. The Bauhaus ethos.
