Wow just bought a Mk1 GTI 1800

    Woo hoo they are fukin great!!!

    now i need to know what to do to them!!!
    Any feedback greatly appreciated!!!

    The clutch seems pretty hard to push down and maybe the gearbox is a bit loos but phew they are cool!!!

    SOund slike mine with the clutch and gearbox. Get a nice 2ltr 16 valve in there and uprate suspension.

    trust me buy a gear linkage repair kit,they tottaly change the driveability on a mk1.gsf do an extensive kit which even includes the ball at the bottom of the gear lever.

    Have a go at doing the clutch cable too.......only a tenner or so! [:D]

    Good arnt they! I went from a 1.6 driver to a 1.8 mk1 Gti with flowed head, inlet,exhaust and 270 cam with Audi 5 cylinder throttle body and now i cant live without it!

    Trouble is i fear my licence is in danger as it turns me into a right hooligan everytime i drive it.[:D]

    I've done 130 miules just tonight!! couple of probs though it seems to be like carb icing it judders occasionally and stalls!! hmmm......

    mine does have stage 2 head and piper cam! nice and scary!

    i will try the clutch cable and repair kit!
