    i hate doing these newbie posts coz i never know what to say lol
    my name is john i live in Hitchin north hertforshire and i'm 34
    I've been into VW's since i was 14 when i saw my 1st Baja Bug in hatfield and have been addicted ever since.
    I've never had a chance to own an air cooled dub but my Vw ownership includes

    in order
    1989 Jetta GTi 16v
    1990 Golf Gti 16v
    1994 Vento GL
    1989 Scirocco GT (track car)
    1994 Golf CL
    1993 Vento VR6
    and this weekend i'm buying a 1991 Golf GTi 8v

    I'm a writer for an online VW magazine

    well thats me :)

    I thought that fad had been and gone?

    If it's a totally shed with beyond repair type rust then yeah ok

    but if its in need of a clean and polish to be great condition then please don't rat it lol

    Its cool if its done right, i would say its been and gone yet but i dont think i'd go down the rust look route as it would be irrepairable. i dont mind doing stuff that i can change at a later date if needed.
    The one i'm getting is solid and straight but a little scabby in places, so i may just spray it matt black and give it a tidy up but keeping the rat/rod look influences there at the same time.
