Howdy strangers. Hope you're all sweet. Took the carbs off the golf to fab up a new intake manifold. Put the carbs back on and they are ****ing fuel out of the overflow/breather at the top of the carbs. Perfectly running before removal. Carbs were not inverted. However, I have recently run some redex carb cleaner through the system. So can only assume something is blocked and maybe the floats are staying open. I've whipped them off and opened up the floats but all seem in great condition, free and clean. With the carbs now inverted, floats therefore in closed/full position, I am unable to blow through the fuel feed pipe at all. Right way up I can blow through. Could they have just been flooded? nb; the pump is the original from the same bike.
no real substitute for a pressure gauge tapped into the system. one carb flooding its a float, all carbs its too much fuel pressure. IMHO Jon
