brilliant info there cheers ! , i got off the phone to storm the other night , they're talking about 1.6k four the emerald/modifed throttle body, and me sending both looms to them , That would be open the parcel up and plug and play ... When i next speak to them i ask about using the mk2 clocks , i've seen how the 12vr6 is done with the resistors , just i really want to keep the mk2 clocks/16v 160mph coz those speeds would be more where its at on private roads though , Jo
Or collect the parts and get Andy to do the whole conversion in 4/5 days. Thats what i'm going to do, if I did it myself it would take forever and probably never run or look right.
Thats 1.6k plus vat aswell ! ,i've heard about andyout was going to drop him a call soon , but if i used the standard ECU and all that i've got alot of parts to source and would have to use the satndard clocks / throttle pedal setup wouldnt i ? Also the R32 engine im looking at has already had the loom to fit emerlad with the plug on the end .... ? I was half way through my VR6 ive got about 600 worth of VW parts like chains/oil pump/rings/bearings i was going to do full rebuild but now this R32 has came onto the table coz i thought well the money id be pouring into VR and getting best case just 1 or 2 over 200BHP . Its a real stuck in the middle , my tax rebate came in the post and premuim bonds just won a fair bit , i've been watching all the VR videos and think id be stupid to just stop this project coz its about 70% done. just to say im 18 and a mechanic apprentice i spend basically 99% of my wages on my mk2 , well what ever is left after rent/few simple bills , Jo
Could anyone get me part numbers (and prices if i'm cheeky) for MK4 R32 injector rail and fuel pressure regulator? Thanks!!
Sounds like you would be better with the Emerald, some of the parts are proving very hard to find for the OEM setup.

IMO that 1600 quid can be spent elsewhere. The other option if you must use a standalone is conventional cable throttle and stock pedal 1600 quid saved. There is a chap I know who has an Emerald controlled MK3 R32. Throttle is cable. MK3 clocks work as in any normal emerald conversion. The standalone will benefit, if you plan on making adjustments yourself. If not then good tuners know how to tweak both systems.
i have to have a long think about all this ! If only Storms Wiring Diagrams were " freedom of Information " Just a massive labour bill coz all the stuff they do i could here at home , just i dont have the info like them , Jo
chears john for that this is what i am trying to do work out which wire goes to each pin on the ecu stole this picture
The connector is called 'T121' so say you wanted to connect the K line or data line to an OBD J1962 connector in a MK2 you will look for T121/43 ( engine control connector pin 43) on the diagram and connect to pin 7 on the J1962. EOBD, unlike OBD2 also comms by CAN and these can be found on T121/58 CAN-L and T121/60 CAN-H. CAN-H will connect to diagnositic connector (OBD/J1962) pin 6 and CAN-L pin 14. You can use that connector image and populate with a spreadsheet, using the Elsa pdfs John shared on page 2.
cheers will have a good look once the kids are asleep its not so bad for me as its a mk4 4motion i have i am only looking to change the ecu and engine loom i have the single coil pack on mine just now
that is the r32 one this is the thead i got it from http://www.r32oc.com/performance-technical/27131-how-do-mk4-r32-mk4-4motion-conversion.html just looking for a bit more info
have a look at my how to read vw wiring diagramsd guide as well. 1st time u see the vag diagrams it looks complicated, but once you get your head around how its laid out they're very simple to follow. though the older mitchel diagrams are very good too as they show the complete fusebox and all the traces inside it. main thing about mk4 over mk2/3 is they dont actually have a fusebox anymore in the strict sense of the word, they have 2 'racks' one for fuses and one for relays with the wires from everything just poking out the back
I've done my loom now, didn't need Andyout, I cut the wires and joined them nice and neat, loosely followed RJ's wiringdiagrams, should have it running in no time.
Ha ha ha!!! Cheers!! I actuallly found that picture on another site, a guy had bought an unfinished project and had to bin the loom. Does anyone know the difference between the mk4 and mk5 wiring looms?
