Pretty sure I have a spare diagnostic port bracket, one broke on the polo so I grabbed 3 at scrapyard as knew would be of use for the conversion, two ways to mount it from memory. I'll have a look Friday if need one.
A little bit of wee came out when i saw this for my final guage in the drivers side air vent: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VDO-International-Ladedruckanzeige-2-BAR-/273008676034 buuuuut it looks to be electronically activated and not with a pressure pipe..so i'll have a look to see how i might go about this..possibly with one of these https://www.autodoc.co.uk/bosch/700...9w9Ii0RUob7-5mpUp25ZIqLH7ycOLVTQaAg0XEALw_wcB it would be such a cool guage to have installed
When it blows up i'll change to something a bit more modern. I bought all the parts required for a conversion a few years back off a friend who gathered all the bits then went another route. so just rolling with it for now
not enough Scene points haha i do have a set of Ford recaros on Corrado bases i need to send off to be trimmed. i just wince at the cost so they stay in my loft
Theres a place near Haynes museum that are good, quoted me 70 to do the bolster on my old mgzr a few years ago, which I thought was reasonable. Always used to be a guy in Langport but think he retired, same with company near cossington. I got quoted 400 to retrim the rear seat only last year up here near Halifax. So just went and bought a mk2 rear leather seat instead.
thanks again to @dodgy for the bracket to fit my little lower engine cover thing. I've had to cut the bracket a bit to allow for the rad pipe but thats all ok IMG_20210220_112040 by Laxadams, on Flickr This arrived this morning IMG_20210222_082049 by Laxadams, on Flickr Over the weekend i finished my PC (i think i'll be waiting months still for a 3060/70 GPU though) IMG_20210219_201354 by Laxadams, on Flickr so this weeks plan is to attack the wheel arch under seal and get it masked up and painted with the new Schutz. once thats done and the wings are back on, i can put the bumper back on and free up a bit more space.
some more progress tonight IMG_20210223_163144 by Laxadams, on Flickr Used some of my spare OEM connectors IMG_20210223_170640 by Laxadams, on Flickr Green LED's look decent too and are on the light adjuster too, so dim and get brighter IMG_20210223_171826 by Laxadams, on Flickr
so fustrating... the handbrake light is constantly on, its my only electrical issue now! grrrr.. i need to identify why this is the case
oh so it appears that its also a warning for extremely low brake fluid... https://www.clubgti.com/forums/index.php?threads/all-mk2-golf-owners-should-read-this.275515/ mine has no fluid in at this moment in time, so i will check that this turns the lght off if i put the bobble thing in the res up
all is well, the thread i linked was indeed the cause of the handbrake light being on. push the float up and hey presto, normal functionality is restored! hurrah
