    Thanks for the info!!

Got a better picture of it on Excel.
So, to resume things, on my car, this gearbox would do in KM/H and with the limiter set to 7200:

    gear max theoretical speed
    1 91,7
    2 120,3
    3 155,8
    4 186,6
    5 222,1
    6 263,7

    (LONG ASS 1st gear!!)
but even, it would be shorter than a TDI gearbox.

Maybe it's not a good option for me.

    I use a 4.25 in my 9A (2Y 020) which has a rev limit of 7800, on 15" wheels = 18mph / 1,000rpm in 5th - longest run I`ve done is ~ 100 miles and it`s fine .. for me.

Car is stripped mind you so a few other `sounds` to listen to ...

Car is used for a combination of local, daily driving and a few events - hillclimbs / sprints. The quicker `pick up` and improved tractability are excellent for the nature of the locality.

Previously ran the standard 3.67 which gave 20mph / 1,000rpm in 5th and again, was happy with that ... even on a 600 mile run.

my 2.9FD was determined by only being allowed to run 5 gears in the combe saloon, as my car only came with 5 as std.. so 5th on the SQS 6spd kit (omitting 6th) gives me a 156mph @ 8200rpm limiter which was nearly identical to top of 4th on my std 02J box with 3.3FD

Since your car is a race car, it's entirely different, of course.
I would like to have a good pickup, and good top end, which means, it's something really hard to get [:D]

To get a good pickup, my EBD gearbox is just fine. But way to short on the top end, and it will spin like mad on lower gears. But it does 80-120km/h in 3s(or something) in 4th. So, its pretty fast.
But, going at 120km/h at 4kRPM (or so) it's just a nightmare.

Btw, where can I get a gearbox code list like the one you are posting?

Ehehe, I was told I can have a DZF gearbox, from a Audi TT180hp for cheap.
Do you know if there is any info about it?

I would like to have the "compromise" with sporadic trackdays, 1/4mile runs, and regular drives to work, just for fun.
