I just looked in my copy of Golf magazine - possibly the latest issue - which features the pink MK1 with the G60 16V engine. What's interesting is that he has the TB straight onto the manifold without using the elbow piece. Dunno how he avoided problems with the dizzy being in the way. And he used a custom fuel rail and other bits and pieces from another tuning company in Germany.

Nice one on the pistons, ausgolfer.

So in the kit, BBM supply the Digifant 1 EPROM for the conversion, too. That's rather good innit.

I envy you being able to get hold of the latest Golf Mags, we're usually a few months behind down under.
Anyway about the manifold, have seen in Goof mag one 16v G60 with an RS2 manifold shortened to suit 4cyls which looks really nice(probably does the biz a bit better too), but it was also clearanced on the front side so it didn't hit the charger(very close). The car used a Mk4 fuel rail.

g60 chargers are just very expensive to maintain, whereas a turbo that'd give you 300bhp coulbe be had for 5-700

i think a 50mm at any price is lucky - there are 42m ones around though

tbh i am not convinced the difference would be great between them

Audi S2 is a beter manifold for the conversion
It needs to be cut and a plate welded in to accept the throttle body
John mitchell is the man for this
Go on coraddo-forum.net and IM 16vG60

Yeah, at one stage I had my eye on several manifolds on eBay.de. Didn't bother bidding yet though, but I know there are plenty of them out there.

G6DUB, thanks for the comments about BBM. They do seem very good, and I was impressed when I got a response within five minutes after emailing a list of questions to them. If I am going to get the BBM kit then it's going to be soon, because the exchange rate is very favourable at the moment! I still think this kit is the way to go. I doubt I'd save anything by mucking about trying to get my own parts made. One question: did you get any hassle over import duty at all? With it being a huge item coming from the US I have no doubt whatsoever that I'll be stung. Did they try to whack anything on your own supercharger? And why send it to a US company? Are they that good?
