Thanks again Golden. So let me get this straight, i've got to block the supply line at one end in order to read the system pressure, yes? should be easy enough. How will the car run though with the supply blocked? Im guessing that the line i've setup the control pressure on is the return line, thats the one that comes from the top of the metering head to the bigger 14mm bolt head connection on the WUR. Then the one connected to the side of the WUR next to the pressure reg is the supply, correct?

Yes, that kit is similar to mine, although the hoses in that one look better than the one in my kit. Mine isnt K-Jet/Bosch specific. You get a length of high pressure hose, the oil filled gauge, an inline connector which fits the gauge, a block off tap for the inline connector and an inline joiner, plus a few jubilee clips.

Erm [:[] No [:D] But you know more than some "specialists" already!!!

    Look at this pic:-

As you can see, the feed to the WUR (CONTROL PRESSURE REGUATOR) is the pipe you've been testing from the top of the metering unit. The other pipe, going from the WUR to the side of the metering unit is the return (or more accurately the bleed off). With the gauge allowing flow to the return through the WUR you are measuring CONTROL PRESSURE, if you block the line anywhere after the gauge you will read SYSTEM PRESSURE. This is becasue you stop pressure being bled off through the WUR and read the pressure being maintained by the SYSTEM PRESSURE REGULATOR.

Man, my english must be really bad!! [xx(] I wasn't saying that i was going to set it up without a gauge! My only concern is the tampering with the WUR! Making the WUR mod... Cause i don't want to mess things up!!

Ahah, its all making sense now [:D] I was getting confused as to what was going on, because I thought the pipe I was measuring control pressure on was the return line [:$] Im actually quite enjoying learning about this system, its the first injection car that i've had, so its all new to me. Bosch specialist here I come

Now, if I block off the WUR supply line after the gauge, do you need to keep the line in circuit, or would it be ok to run it with the feed disconnected from the WUR? I dont think i've got an inline shutoff valve you see, so i'll probably have to resort to plugging one side of the gauge...

No worries Hidro, all you have to do is fit the gauge without touching anything first and note your original settings. That way, you can return everything back to standard should it all go tits up ;) Access to a gas analyser is pretty important too, as you'll need to re-set the CO with every change.

You'll have to plug both ends because fuel will piss out from the metering head even if you plug the hose after the gauge and before WUR.

Well I plugged both ends - fuel pressure read 5.2 bar so im happy with that. Tried to setup my mates 2.0 valver though and the screw at the back of the WUR doesnt seem to do anything, I guess his WUR must be knackered.

    ...running on 16v K-Jet

Is it running on the orginal K Jet hardware or the stuff from the 6A?

Original K-Jet Golden, all we did really was change the block, the rest is KR stuff.

Sounds like it's knackered then Smithy.

Sorry for the mild hijack, but couldyou tell me exactly where is the hidden screw (or where i can find more info on the wur mod)? Thanks!

To be honest,Its not worth messin with unless you have a pressure gauge cos i fiddled with 1 once and car lost loadsa power [8(]
If your near stealth racing, for the sake of 60ish quid you can have it done properly and your car will be transformed

If you have the guages to set it up, and know what you're doing, then the hidden screw is located behind the brass cap on the warm up regulator at the side of the head (you have to drill through the cap).

I might actually do an DIY WUR mod guide FAQ soon with pics for this, as it really is fairly straight forward if you have a fuel pressure gauge.

It really bugs me that so many people treat anything to do with K-Jet as some kind of voodoo, and apparently there's only one man in the whole world capable of guiding you through the art

Careful martyn, you start dissing the church of the WUR mod and where will it end? People might start doing their own chassis set-ups :o!!!
