Tomorrow is the big day for my ACE 2L swap.

Engine is sat in a stand ready to go!

Going to do it overnight after work as il be on swing shift. Have access to a ramp so it shouldn't take too long fingers crossed.

    I'm strangely excited[:$]

    Full spec will be

87k 2L ACE block with 051 cast head and ABF cams
    New water pump and thermostat
    New belts
Lightened and balanced flywheel and clutch
Mocal external 235mm 13 row oil cooler
    Windage tray
JMR (mr hillclimber) sump baffle tray
    New sump
    TSR 4-1
Polybushed subframe with solid front mount.

Plenty to do with swapping bits and bobs from the KR to ACE, but hopeful il get it done in 1 night with a bit of help.

    Fingers crossed.

Looking forward to returning to 2L torques :p

As long as you manage to get the downpipe out and the mountings all come apart, that should be fairly straightforward to do in the time you've got.

Hope you've got the new lump built as far as it can go, before you start. Good luck

Need to swap a few bits including the cams, but fingers crossed all should come apart nicely for the removal..

I have my trusty angle grinder if things get desperate[:$]

Hammer and harsh language will both be used!

Have also taken delivery of a 12" laser m8 splined socket today- so whipping the driveshafts out should be stress free (touch wood)

That is a very very handy tool. Cuts time to remove driveshafts to around 10mins max.

Mixed fortunes last night. Lots of crusty rusted bolts and an exhaust that was stuck fast. Grr!

The KR is now removed however, and all the required bits swapped over.

Just need to refit the box to the engine now and "simply refit":)
