2l bottom end - worst way to go...

    erm , sorry i should have said its an 91 mk2 8v ....
    does that make a diffrence ??
    i really dont know a thing about engines other than most of them are in the front of cars [:s]

    IIRC, Rileys Mk1 put out 175bhp with a standard KR on carbs, surely with all your engine mods it should be more ?

    Waste of time comparing different rollers, Wussels KR has 178bhp for instance.. :)

    any idea about the baffled sump? will it fit the 9A, im guessing it wont?

    driven as in round the block or driven as in full chat down some country roads?at 18 you want to learn how to handle what you have now before you start on any eng upgrades imho :)

    i intend to have driven it properly and got to know what its capable of before i start to change things,

    Mk1's got a point, but it entirely depends on how much driving experience and talent you've got. If you're going to wrap yourself round a tree you've got more than enough power already.

    So it's a "project" car which happens to be a fully finished mk1 16v
    putting out 170bhp, which is too expensive to insure? What's the project
    - putting it back to standard?

    I don't think people are being jealous, Tim, they're just trying to figure
    out what you're actually trying to do.
