I'm desperately in need of material to repair my drivers seat.

BTW you have the wrong period mfa and indicator arms in that car, those came of a late '87 golf:p ;)

Aware of the stalk issues. Swapping them and the clocks soon.

Will be getting the design done next week with a graphic/signmaker friend. Colour options shouldn't be an issue. Perfect for your car

My instruments are screwed TBH. Need to swap stalks and them. One of those annoyances off the list.

Hi Mate - looking very nice.

You can get those side stripes already from various places. Here is such a place. http://www.volkswagenstickers.co.uk/index2.php?cmd=search&cat=7. The guy was friendly and happy to make me a set big enough to do the sides of my mk2. Although they are listed for mk1 I believe they are the same dimensions as the v early mk2 Gti stripes.

    Cheers

    Dan

Thanks Dan. I had seen some but need an exact colour match for the rest of the gear so will be doing them myself. You couldn't tell me the thicknesses and the distance between them?

They look really smart in white against the blue on yours and loving the rear spoiler

Had this posted on my Thread thought you might like to see it

Mine seems to be the first of the later versions. The rally Golf does have the Econometer thing though. Ironic - that will never be economical

Had a week or so just using the car. It would appear I now have a decent oil leak from somewhere so I am pushing ahead with the TT conversion. The exit flange/elbow was missing so I have ordered a GSP clamp style connection for 3" pipe.

I'm now weighing up my options for SEM and a replacement turbo unit.

Other stuff..... well I need to make a repair to the front arch which had split. As the front bumper hasd a crack a mate is going to show me the fine art of plastic welding soon.

Tonight I was bad again and handed over more folding for wheels. 15" was becoming passe and I wasn't feeling the Wow! factor on the BBS reps. Still awaiting the caps and they will be getting a light refurb soon.

In the meantime I was on the lookout for some 16" rims. Ebay yielded some interesting 80's options but nothing sensibly priced or eyecatching enough to match the Votex.

Retro Rides provided the answer and a run to Sheffield later has me coveting some 16"x7J Stroseks. These are 4x100 and I think ET25 (BMW E30 suited).

Unfortunately one of the caps is missing. I might try and get one made as they are basically a standard flat cap with 5 subtle recesses.

Colourwise I am debating whether to flat them back and go silver, silver with a polished dish, Helios with a polished dish or gold with a polished dish.

    Here they are in silver:
