One more thing that has sprung to mind. I'll swap the solid fromt mount back for a rubber item and see where that leaves me on the vibration side. Not sure that, solid mount + tdi + mk2 was a good mix haha

Didn't vibrate too bad before but there was no dash or indicator stalks fitted to rattle around before.

Ok so I've been out with the car, vcds linked up and took a load of photos from different readings in measuring blocks.
    2000rpm boost levels...
    rsz_120180408_170239.jpg

Now I've no idea if that is a good or a bad reading but as it turns out it doesn't matter....

I thought I'd just try and plug in the AHU ecu to try and eliminate the possibility of the AFN I bought (code - 028906021CE ) being bad somehow.

Car runs sweet as a nut with the original ecu!
So I'm guessing that the AFN that's 'tuned' to 140bhp is somehow not liking the standard injectors and bigger turbo setup lol

Now I need a new plan to get the car for exhaust fitting and over to the tuners as I doubt it'll want to drive anywhere near as good as it should with stock ecu. It revs up but the n75 is mk4 so this will be an issue I think as AHU won't work it? Here is same as above but on the other ecu...

The idle ^^^^^ is perfect too!
    *Sigh....

Injected quantities are bang on with AHU and way out with AFN. I did try to change this value in adaptations but made no difference as it didn't really change the rate!
One thing I have just noticed is the label file above is the same on both ecu?

I'd forgotten you'd fitted an afn ecu to a ahu... It will be expecting to have afn injectors, and that will mean that at idle it is just not requesting the right amount of fuelling. So it is having to adjust for this based on that, but seems like it isn't doing a good job of it...

Label file is the same as the ecu's are essentially the same.

It should be ok to drive on the afn ecu as that will request larger fuel quantitys which won't be quite as affected.

Oh ok so it'll just idle like a box of frogs but should drive ok?
I tried to adjust the quantities but wasn't working.
Do you think the manifold pressure looks ok?

Yeah manifold pressue looks ok. You'll need to be driving to see the boost pressure actually being controlled so the actual and specified match each other.

Did you get the full version of vcds lite, and are you following the steps here for the idle fuelling adjustment?

    http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/tdi.html

In the first window when you connect to the ecu in vcds can you confirm which soft coding the CE ecu is showing as? It should be 0002. If it isnt the steps to change it are ehre.

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?6875956-automatic-ecu-to-manual-recoding

Whats your plan for injector nozzles, are you going to get bigger ones?

Does your ecu have sockets for the chips already as it has a 140hp tune?

If so I could make you some chips with the AFN base file but with the maps for the ahu injectors.

It might also be worth checking your ecu is set for the manual code block with vcds.

I believe I downloaded vcds lite from the ross-tech website but using an eBay usb controller. The controller set up ok after some playing with the comms port.

The ecu is socketed yes and I'm in the process of booking in with Darkside for 3bar map sensor, .280 nozzles and custom remap. I would definitely consider delaying the tuning and seeing if your chips work things a little better in the short term. What cost and time scale to have them sent am I looking at @m1keh? MOT is next Thursday, think that's likely?

I did indeed follow the above instructions but to no avail! The values changed with injected quantities but didn't make any difference - never climbing above 1.0 mg/str. Even with injection timing, I'm being given an on screen message telling me I need to register or login and the login I used (12233) didn't work.
Can't get the advanced/retarded graph to display.

I'll check the soft coding when I'm home on Thursday

    Bingo - it's 00002 lol

No idea what it means but it's there haha

Edit to the above though, I have checked the ross-tech website and I have the free shareware version so no doubt I'm having issues with login [:$]

Oh nice one! Are the chips cheap to buy then? I mean, how much do I owe you lol?

So can you write these chips so that they will at least have the car running ok for the time being? Can give you any info you need re what parts are being used currently.

When I bought this car, the insurance was £182 as a standard classic car.
Now with the engine & turbo swap, £270 with agreed valuation!

I'm really happy with that :) beats the £499 quote I had last week!

I feel daft with this one but needed to ask on here [:$]

    Pd150 n75 - 20180411_192314.png

Mine is set up as above BUT I'm obsessing my mind with if I've set the one way valve the correct way. Should air travel in the direction of RED ARROW ONLY or BLUE ARROW ONLY?

It's simple but my brain won't work....

You should be able to blow through in the direction of the red arrow.

Simplest way to check though is just remove the line from one way valve to the n75 and check that you can feel the vacuum sucking.

Cheapo boost gauge in a place I'll most likely regret!

    Till I get a VDO item :)

Headlining is in but is sagging around the sunroof area so needs tucking under the inner seal. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIT THIS ON YOUR OWN!! Unless you're happy swearing and sweating for 2 hours lol

The chips that @m1keh did me had arrived and also the extractor tool so swapped chips over -

Cheers Mike! I'll test the ECU tomorrow and post results

Anyone know a part number for the little rubber or plastic piece that pushes the tailgate light switch on and off as you open/close the boot?

    That's all for now! Relax...

Looks good, glad you got the extractor quick too! If you have any issues with the ecu and new chips it maybe worth chopping small spacers out of the tube which I sent you the new chips in to sit in the bottom of the sockets as sometimes being pushed in too deep can cause issue.

The only issues so far are that it's idling at like 850rpm instead of 903rpm. Although I've adjusted in vcds it doesn't remember the setting so resets once ignition is switched off and on. No biggie it'll get me to where i need to be for the exhaust MOT and tune :)
The rattling (I think this was injectors making noise) has now disappeared and injected quantity is above the minimum guide amount shown on vcds but not above the maximum so happy days! Give me a pm Mike and I'll throw some cash your way, much appreciated.
