8v guzzeling all my oil!!!!

    Think so but buy a compression tester and it should come with instructions.

    or perhaps whoever whoever sodl the 2.0 engine lied about its mileage.

    put it this way though, my 170k kjet 1.8 8v doesn't use a drop of oil. admittadly it could have been replaced at some point, i have no history with the car see.

    change the oil, to quantum 10w40 and then check it more often,

    just drive it until it dies

    the miles are for real. its been serviced by a vw garage up 2 60000 miles every 10ooo and :lol: dunno if ive mentioned it enough its a mk3 [:D]

    just got back from volksrange and got my coller and some oil :p


    is it best to check the oil after the car has been running?

    btw, youre saying theres feck all oil in it, so does it oil pressure warning light work?
    Or have you said this?

    it lights up when i start the engine, but it dont ever come on otherwise.

    if it comes on, then goes out relatively soon, thats a sign its prob ok!

    nah all the lights come on when u start the engine then go off..... thought it was to show they all work!!!

    The garage could have used the wrong oil, if it was really thin it would go quick. As everyone said get a new dip stick collar and check then. Could also ask what oild the garage used need about 10w40

    yeah i got one fitted it too just gunna top the oil up. the garage has a good reputation, the oil will of been unipart oil not sure wat grade but they are really good there so i would of thought it would be the correct one although i will check.
