That's right. Those 16v engines need all the help they can get!

8v got the up to 2.0 NA class win at Curby I heard.

I got one of them and a T3 if anyone needs more power than the 8v (16v beating) already produces. ;)

I will have to have a think about that.
But do you not think it is a little harsh on all those 16v lads making an 8v even quicker!

I would love a turbo on mine, I have thought about it before. Danster, your 8v couldn't be that fast if you bought a turbo to bolt on it plus your constant 16v jibes are starting to hurt my feelings [8(][:^(][%(]

    not really;)

    Not really lol [:D]

I'd love a turbo on my 8v lump. Would a major rebuild be required to handle the extra power?

I ain't even started my proper 16v jibes yet. ;)

In fact do you think you could record your rattly 16v cam chain sound and send it too me? I will just play it on my car stereo and folk will think I have fitted an uber 16v.

G60 internals at least I'd imagine, my brothers collecting parts to turbo his rallye engine at the moment. I can't see a standard 8v lasting too long with standard pistons and crank etc.

Probably not. Toyotec and others have proved that stacking 2 headgaskets works well to reduce the compression enough.
Just sorting the mapping either by the likes of megasquirt, or modifying the k jet with an Audi boost sensing WUR to sort it all out.
There are a couple of good threads on here that have carried out the 8v turbo conversion.

Will have to do a search on here i think and have a word with Toyotec about it.

Down the line i was going to fit a 1.8T engine, but have been really thinking about an 8v turbo. I might buy a used block and build it up over time in my lockup. Something different from the rest

Will have to look into what sort of mapping would be most effective, and keep costs down to a minimum.

Is there anything that can be used from the Mk2 diesel turbos for the conversion ?

You can probably get some kind of counselling for your problems you know? It is one thing to admit owning a 16v on a public forum, but to compound your insanity by admitting you owned a mk3 as well is just plain crazy! :o

I am just going to make a call to the authorities to get you sectioned.

Mk3 8v though, that's got to count for something in your twisted depraved 8v loving world, plus it was only 50
