I've been with Flux for 4 years now covering a modded Scoob, modded Fiat Coop 20vt, New Beetle, my current 16v Mk3 (modded) and my Mk1 GTi trackcar.

I haven't had a claim (and want to keep it that way) but they have offered great policies throughout.

I was with HiC for a claim 5 years ago and it was a nightmare, but I suppose most claims don't follow the plan you have in your head (this was direct with HiC not using Flux as a broker)

Would have to say the 25 for changes sucks asre but if the initial set up is ok then you don't pay this...........

and the quotes are not half bad either ;)

I'm with Highways through Adrian Flux. No problems so far. Paying about 800 TPF&T at 21 with 1 years ncb which I think is fairly reasonable.

No problems with them to date, but agree that they are anal about paperwork when you first take out the policy. They wanted the engine number, chasis number, copies of my driving license, alarm details etc etc. In the end I gave them everything but the engine number claiming I had no idea where I could find it....

I too had a bad experience with A Drain Fux a while back, I'd been with them a couple of years and one night coming home from work in the pitch black some dozy old hag ran out inbetween two parked cars and bounced of my bonnet, she never claimed as she was in the wrong and admitted liabilty, and no action was taken against me as I was 100% within the law.

I informed Fux of the incident and thought nothing more of it, but when my renewal came through a few months later my premium had tripled [:s] I rung them and they kindly informed me that they had cancelled my 2 years no claims bonus as apparently the pedestrian had 3 years to start a claim and they said the 99% of the time the pedestrian will claim and win.

After 3 years of battling with them (and no claim from the pedestrian) they grudgingly agreed to re instate my no claims, I'd been paying mega insurance premiums for those three years though and of course didn't get any money refunded [:x]

    Bunch of cnuts TBH :p

yes they are fussy about paper work, i couldnt find the certificate for my alarm but it hasnt been a prob just told serial no on the alarm box.

As for the engine again- i have declared engine now but in order to get a quote originally said it was a 1.8 as i still have the engine in my garage so i could get the engine no. However on the 9a the number is on the cam belt cover so i could argue the cover has been swapped at some time...

either way be honest with them and you shouldnt have any problems , they sound like theu no what they are on about

Read all the posts and Ive been with Adrian Flux for about 6 years and in that time Ive had to make 2 claims (neither my fault ! ). They are very competitive and when Ive found a cheaper quote they have always met or bettered it. Do have to say they can be very anal over paperwork but ive never been charged a 25 fee.

Would recommend them as long as your prepared to submit plenty of paperwork.

Haven't used them for a few years, and wouldn't go near them with a barge pole!! I had a shunt, not my fault and when i rang up to inform them they said 'do you want legal cover in case it goes to court, only 30 could save you loads blah blah blah'. Anyway i took it out and when it did eventually got to court they said 'oh by the way your legal cover doesn't cover this claim 'cos you took it out after the accident...

They were nearly 100 cheaper than my renewal from Brentacher this year for the GTO mods declaired, and I`ve had no problems with them in the past so I`ve gone back to Flux. Paperwork isn`t that bad really, a couple of forms and a copy of your alarm cert..

yes cheap quotes for insurance but you get what you pay for comes to mind
had unknown 3rd party back into my gttdi and damage wing, door, wheel, steering, then car couldnt be driven due to bent wishbone + shocker.
decided to take for laser alignment(low loaded) to see how bad it was, to be told loads of new parts required.... decieded to claim as i'm fully comp protected, to find adrian flux/ highways totally unnelpfull took 2 weeks to send out engineer ....didnt care wether my policy said Guaranteed hire car.. just didnt give 2 f**ks as i had to hire one .
i spent 3 weeks chasing them for the engineers report to say yes to wing and door but no to susp and steering dam......
well how annoyed was i 5wks later found bit of info that they must prove damage not linked to bump and pressed on phoning 4 times a day chasing them up
finally got car repaired took 7 wks for 1800 worth of dam
during this time no offer of hire car

I really would advise to stay well clear

their mistake .... im paying for it.

just taken out a policy with adrien flux for my rally car, phoned up and declared every single modification ( 4 pages worth) got a quote and started policy .....

..... got a letter 2 days ago saying i hadnt declared i had an ecu chip in my initial quote ( i actually did ) and i should call them back to clarify details.

Phoned back and they admitted that they didnt 'work out' that a port polish and gas flowed head with big cams and an ECU chip ( all quoted on signed document from me) would give a gain in BHP......

......so they loaded another 20% onto my policy and said i had no choice to pay it or my policy was void.

    i can't beleive it.

I am currently insured with them and have been for quite a few performance cars...the Cossie, XR2i, Fiesta ST and the Golf have all been a lot cheaper through them than anyone else, insured via Royal & SunAlliance too, so not a bad company to be with.

Not had need to claim but all my nine years are protected;)

I changed my car with them three times in one year and the last time they only charged me 10 admin fee - must be a good customer...

Been with them for years on the Bug, still have an agreed value policy. When my Beetle caught fire, they paid out 7000 to get her back to spec. Golf is insured thriugh Barry Grainger. Mods always declared (6 pages worth on the Bug)
