Hi all was fitting 02j tower upgrade the last day and went to start car afterward but just turns over and over. Has got fuel and spark. Also has Clifford alarm fitted any ideas? Battery lead was off to fit new starter before hand but started after connecting. Now after tower install just turns over

re- trace all your steps.. you mush have either upset the alarm by disconnecting the battery or damaged a wire..those would be my first places to check

Which ecu? Should be able to plug in still and do some diagnostic tests. I've used Motec, Omex, Bosch and Life Racing and can read live data from each.

I presume you've double checked all fuses, battery connections and earths?
    Is the fuel pump priming/running?
    Have you spark?

wont be an obd port like you would find on standard managment, but as above there should be some kind of port on the ecu you plug into for mapping etc and you should be able to get live data from it to make sure its powering up and sensors are reading ok

after a quick google looks liek its based off megasquirt? if so normal MS cable will do. these ecu have an led on the outside which should flash with rpm signal so have a look at that see if you at least get some life there

Sounds like a serial port, getting harder to find laptops with those. There are serial to USB adapters, some work and some don't.

And as usual RJ is right, looks like a MegaSquirt clone.

No, not necessarily, if it was running OK before. Just you might have to invest in a cable, and download some software to a laptop, to perform diagnostics on it.

In the meantime, you can check for spark with any plug that you can find, even a lawnmower one.

So seems be fuelling issue only getting fuel in two of the four cylinders so must be a broken wire?
