Alternator Squealing

    Yeah i think i'll have to replace mine before that happens.

    So will any Mk3 GTI alternator fit onto mine then?

    Also, are there any others i should look for which will bolt straight on.

    Maybe a 16v one or something?

    mk3 stuff will fit but you need everything off a mk3 to fit it, crank & waterpump pulleys, alt bracket , pas pump, brackets and pulley if you have pas etc.

    if your going to replace it if you need to,
    try spraying some wd40 in towards the bearing with the engine running, itll get drawn in and stop the sqeel, atleast for a momnt and youll hear the sound change if its that, if not spray the belt, itll slip even more but the noise will go away, degrease everything if it does.
