Anyone fitted a GT28RS or GT2871RS to a Mk2 20v Turbo?

Right as ever plans change! Spec will now be :-
    Pauter rods
    Ferrea inconel +1mm valves
    Flowed AGU head
    Supertech springs & Ti retainers
    N/A Inlet cam
    82mm Wiseco pistons
    Racewear head studs

Now we have this spec it would be a waste to have just 350bhp! Seeing as I have to buy a turbo what to people recon? I spoke to Bill the other day and we wrote off using an Eliminator kit as it just won't flow enough. Bill did suggest a GT3071R but looking at some dyno results I think it'll be too laggy. My goal now is to break the 400bhp barrier (if only just by a little) and with the components I have plan to rev close to 8K.

I'm really tight on time and need to speak to or be put in touch with anyone who has put a GT2871R into a Mk2 Golf? I really need to know what manifold will fit and where I can get a suitable downpipe made.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Speak to Jon at Stealth. He had a 20vt with a 2871 in his Corrado.

its allright, but I just dont want peeps thinking I would advise a too laggy setup thats all.
GT3071R wont get going until gone 4k rpm in my experience.

GT30R on smaller 0.63a/r spooled as well as my PE1820 used to but had so much more power than mine from less boost

not a Mk2 but I am trying to achive the same as you, shifting the powerband left, not up and right. not whoring my wares but I posted a thread about it here:
    http://audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=56018

I have gone for a port matched tubular which whilst it wont help me speed up the turbo spooling up it will free up some power later on.
I got a vband exhaust housing as it apparently drops spool by 2-300 rpm, (its lighter, helps me with packaging....and it looks cool!)

only difference is I am fitting a 2.0l block and its 4wd

can you measure your intake diameter on the tial housing for me. I was told elsewhere it was 50mm ID.... which I was concerend about for larger power applications, flow wise.

    thanks

yep, bang on 50mm internal diameter.
suits me perfectly but sure you could get the GT3071 turbine housing, would imagine that has a slightly bigger inlet.
very nicely made peice of kit with the exception of a slight casting irregularity right at the end of the scroll. nothing compared to the cr@p on teh inside of the inside of the internally gated version.

52mm on my previous fp red 8cm housing which i thought was too small for the 500bhp if was flowing @ 2.2bar

new gt35 is t3 flanged and externally gated so flow should be better on top end i hope. collector was always glowing brightly such was the convergence thru the 52mm hole.

Tial looks a nice bit of kit from pictures
