WTF is that from/on ?????????
from an Ultima but the hubs are F*rd, top and bottom ball joints fit into a steel insert in the ally hub. also comes with the bearing/hub and mounting points to fit brembos etc.
the diagonal square section is just to keep the hub in the correct place until the coil-overs are fitted.

Bottom ball joint is fixed but the top arm is threaded so the camber can be adjusted, not sure of the PDC on the 5 stud F*rd, GVK will know.

Anyone know of a front wheel drive version like this ?
bit of info from vortex.

Made a piece on the lathe at work that fits into the balljoint hole and then extends downwards about 2 inches. The bottom is machined down so that it fits inside a spherical rod end. the wishbone has been seem welded and modded so that the spherical bearing screws into the end. It retains the factory suspension geometry, but the wheel sits 2 inches higher up in the arch.

Hopefully you used the right strength rod and machined the smaller end with a "radius shoulder" at the transition between the larger diameter and smaller diameter.
A square cut shoulder will create a stress point, possibly leading to a fracture of the part. Just something to consider. Good luck, WWR.

I have read about a part failure from some one who machined their own spacers like that. [:s]

the forces on those spacers are huge, if anyone has a copy of "how to modify your mini" Vizard makes a very similar thing

getting some new hubs machined up with a properly designed integral lower balljoint mount would be a better move IMHO

as for alternative rear suspensions, Alfa 156s have a double wishbone rear end, all alloy by the looks of things and it sits on it's own Ali subframe. 5x100 too iirc

ive got the same problem with my bones im making some templates up for spacers at the moment they will bolt on to the origanel(sp?) holes and the balljoint will sit on a `block` of steel with the shape of the balljoint machined out of the top i will weld them as well as bolt them when and if they work, if not just get 2 ball joints cut the joint off one slide it in to the wishbone like normall then "stack" the other on top bolting both together ;)

Have a look at the mk1 ride height thread in chassis too dan, thats what i was thinking of doing but i'm not sure it will work as it's the pivot point which is the issue, VW singh and chris expain it a bit more there. ;)
