To add fuel to the fire, just found this on tinty:-

    1. 9.700@156.66/1.49x/1991 Corrado/20v Turbo

The fastest FWD time in the world is the afore mentioned VR6T on a 9.69...so not much to choose between them really.

But we have corners in the country, so I would go for the lighter 1.8T....but that is personal preference.

no one doubts a vr6 is quick just seems vr6 drivers wont have a adult debate about the possibilty that a 18t is a better engine possibly power to weight wise

Good luck with the MoT and..... I hope to see you at VW Action!!! Really, no malice, if you (or anyone else) comes to an event and beats me on the strip; fair game, its all good fun at the end of the day, and we can still have a little light-hearted banter about it all.

Its interesting for others (who might be contemplating beginning a project) to see outcomes of engine mods together with comparable times.

would love to get the quattro on the strip if i ever finish it! and I can get it MOT'd.

Its powered by an 3B (Audi S2) with RS2 manifold and a hybrid K27 turbo, lightened flywheel, modified ecu its fitted with the shorter ratios which should make for good times, altho it will be a low top speed, about 130mph ish

top speed is for whimps as longs as it gets of the line without bogging down to much you should pull some good times on the strip
