There could be any number of reasons for the badge being spaced differently, perhaps somebody pinched them whilst the engine was in the breakers / salvage yard or perhaps the donor car was in a front end crash and the engine cover was damaged so needed to be replaced.

The badges are different because of shoddy German workmanship.

    exactly!

    why would JBS risk 'pretending'?!

they know full well there are enough knowledgable people throughout the scene to catch them out.

You guys keep banging on about how these 6cyl blocks have interchangable components.

If this is so, then the conversion would be near on as straight forward as a 24v v6 swap surely? for a company like JBS, it should be a preverbial walk in the park from what i have heard or seen from their previous conversions.

Excuse me for hi-jacking a little, but what (other than 400cc's and an ECU) exactly is the difference between the R32 engine and the 4Motion one?

Is the 4WD system the same?

    rags is right

The hardest thing is to actually get hold of a R32 engine, the technical aspects of fitting either engine is the same surely?? the only difference is the internal aspects of the engine, so why bother lying

    A 2.8 24v v6 is still impressive.

Its definately an R32 engine. I went to JBS with my mate in his S3 powered MK3 Cabriolet in Jan of this year and the engine was on the bench awaiting fitment. They also had loads of other R32 bits such as the Konig seats and brakes but all these got fitted to James Nitrous Octavia vRS.

News just in from Phatvr6 via e-mail:

    rallye looks real

    corrado looks fake

or it might even be an audi lump, which may explain the badging abnormalities and change of vw badge.

so it might actually be a 3.2 after all!!!!, just not out of an r32, probably a LHD audi TT V6. so strictly speaking that's not an R32 engine (even though it's the same thing at the end of the day...)

    oops, I hope I haven't just made a complete ar5e of myself!!

This is worse than the 'Tex, full o' sceptics

Don't those badges come attached to a clear film so you don't need to apply the characters individually?

i mean they have gotta lie there while your big belly wobbles about on top of them while your hairy sweaty arse bobs up and down creating a lava lamp effect on the rest of your torso......... ooops we on about women or jbs?

tut tut for doubting the lads at jbs, just cuz they talk funny doesnt make them liars!
