There's a full feature on the car in the new Performance VW mag... I've just had a quick scan through the article and there's no mention or hint that it's anything other than an R32!

Possibly a R32 look-a-like to be used as a marketing tool? A 24v is the same as doing an R32 conversion but 1/4 the price, then if someone does come up with the cash for the R32 then it will be done.

    (Just an idea)

It's the cover on the std 1.3. It didn't even start off as a GTI.

I personally reckon it's a 1984 mk2 Polo 1-litre lump with solid lifters & points ignition, with a box around it with pictures of the sides & top of an R32 engine painted on.

R32 engine does look a bit like a Power Rangers jet pack. That cover is only a flimsy thing but it looks better on than off.
Lots of big engines look a bit plasticky these days. Look at Mercs V8s and V12s!

oh well then, I wish I'd never bothered pointing it out now...it's obviously just my problem that they are claiming to be the worlds first mk2 r32 installers with what appers to be a suspect engine, and it's not even of slight interest to anyone else it seems.....forgive me for talking about vw's for a second there.

I'll leave yo all once more to talk abdout biscuits, hair, and all that sh1te you usually ramble on about all week.
