Picked up my 4Motion today ;). And I love my new Minicab.

    - Leather Recaros are fabulous

    - Engine note is perfect, people turn to look where the roar is coming from - and I cant stop reving it

    - Fast on its own, let alone compared to what Im used to - great thrust, pulls hard in every single gear, not even stressed at 80MPH (so much so I have to be VERY careful!) and all the power I could ever need...not had the guts to turn the TC off yet! ;)

    - Diamond black is lovely, so subtle but expensive looking

    - Gearbox feels very different - more positive, though I keep thinking its in 4th when its in 6th

    - Respectable 28MPG considering I got 30MPG from the 1.6 (diesel owners are forbidden from commenting! I wouldnt swap this engine for 100MPG)

    - 16" Wheels ride so much smoother than my last car, and look alright for now - just as well as I am ABSOLUTELY flat broke - cant even afford a pint!

Im very happy. Im gonna take the badges off and leave it stock for a while as I love the stealth...even the wood is alright, no rush to change it. Only thing I hate is the Gamma /6CD combo - its visually identical to my last car but so tinny and almost no bass! They must have changed the design post 2000?

Its dark so pictures are pretty much pointless - Ill try tomorrow! May go for one more spin...;)

Glad to hear you love your new toy Mike.
Can't wait to see some pics. Bora's have to be my fav current VW. Which is strange as I never took to either the Jetta or Vento.

Yeah pics tomorrow hopefully, but it does look a bit pedestrian at the moment. Nice from some angles, then dull from others!

does it have a big surge of power at 4000rpm like the 12v?

if you're gettin 28mpg, me thinks you have some revs left (always get another burst of power over 6000rpm!).

get it on a clear motorway and see how it accelarates from 120mph up...you'll love it!!

the first couple of weeks is always the easiest time to crash a vr6. you don't realise you're doin the speed your doin and go into corners too quick (should be harder for you though!).

Yeah this is M way driving, 80-100MPH cruising. Quite pleased wth that considering I got 30-33 from the 1.6. There does seem to be a big surge around there yeah - but then its fantastic at any RPM really ;)

Vectra man went up my arse at 100MPH on the way up here, so I changed down to 5th and put my foot down to ditch him - and Ive never been able to that before!

This worries me a lot! But hopefully Ill be ok...loving it anyway! Im off for another quick spin ;)
