Just tried to get the free Sky broadband service but they say due to the aera I'm in I'd have to pay a one of fee of 40 and 17 a month. Don't use the internet at home enough to justify that. Any suggestions who to go with, not worried about wireless or anything, just want a better service than dial up at home that doesn't cost the earth! Thanks guys.

Thanks, looks like I may have to spend a bit more than I want to really! I'd prefer it to be BT aswell, just easyer than having to deal with yet another compnay!

Another silly question while I'm at it!! How many GBs does the average internet user use, its ok saying 9.99 a month with a 1gb limit but would I stand to use more than that just by going on a few forums and doing some ebaying in the evenings?

You should be fine at that, unless you're doing loads of downloading - games, videos, etc.

I started on the lowest limit with BT, and they've increased it since I started, to keep up with the competition so I wouldn't worry too much if you think it's close... just check the small print to see if they can charge you for extra, or if they'll just send you a few alerts and maybe ask you to change plans.

plus.net can be a bit of an ****, changing their policies all the time and capping downloads and bandwith and i wouldn't call myself a real heavy user either.

i download stuff, but not that much, and i barely get over 10kbps downloads [:s]
