    ridiculous premium.

when i was 20 back in 1999 i had only just passed my car test as id been on bikes for the years before.

20yo just passed test no ncb living in Bristol BS7 which at the time was up there with the worst areas for car crime in the country

    I only paid 800 TPFT on a rover 1.4 16v.

Theoretically i had a full UK drivng license for 2 years cos i passed a full bike license in 1997. only it didnt have car entitlement on it unitl i was 20. Maybe that little blag to the insurance company paid off [:D]

Its pretty relative. I paid nearly 900 fully comp on a '85 escort 1.6 when I was 18. That was in 1990 though [:$]

Yeah im with elephant; 17, MK1 Golf, 2.0 16V, no other mods declared 1100 fully comp!

Thats my own policy with my dad on it as a named driver, without my dad it was 2700! The more people you have as named drviers with lots of NCB the cheaper it is [:s].

I found that putting a named driver on massivley lowered my quotes as well with elephant, looking for a 1.9 GTI 205 atm, for 250 a year

Then again I am 25 with 5 yrs no claims so that helps

Got my first insurance at 19 on a pug 309 for 490!

At 21 had my scirocco GTX and paid 525 FC

No no claims bonus either. In 5 months time it drops down to 750/year

I'll officially have a 1 year no claims bonus!

I found elephant the cheepest when I got my polo at 19. It was 830 TPFT
which is still alot. Had a crash last year policy went to 960 TPFT then
bought the gti and its now 800 Tpft. [:s] Insurance is a funny thing. [:D]

add a spouse to your policy, wether you have one or not!;)

one of my work mates used to work for norwich union and he told me about it...

put a 30+ year old lady, with full ncb and no crashes ect.. they dont ask or require anything from the named driver, but it brought mine and my mates quotes down by 200:clap:

the 1.05 looks exactly the same as the 1.3 engine to the untrained eye ;) with 1.3 engines inc carb comming in at about 50 sheets, i know which way i'd be heading....

    Posting all those details [:s]

here's a site that might help

    Identity Theft Assistance

    hehe

try adrain flux or hic, or you could get an older golf and try for classic car insurance.

Not what I meant - How do the insurance company know what size the engine is.
