would love to mate but (no offence) it seemed quite expensive as i could get a local trackday for about 100 but it does look like cracking stuff, nothing around in wales (that i know of), i will oine day get one of those styles of cars with maybe a bike engine or something powerfull but putting all effort into my trackcar now.

How expensive was that engine mate?

no offence taken,an average b class event only cost 65ish quid and you get the buzz of competeing. the engine probabley owes my brother(his part of the car) about3000 which aint bad seing as it is dry sumped, twin 45s, cams, pistons and the headwork.
was going to go bike engine route meself but the right car came along. a mate has 2 busa engines in the back of his sportsracer though!

Sounds mint for the price mate, was that all from new parts worked onto a 2nd hand engine? & what kind of usage could it take?

Also have you watched the BergCup?

    Sorry for all the Q's

Did you see the ones with the BMW with the judd v8 in? [:D]

There are also some formula 1 style cars on there too.

EDIT:The 2t4t vids are pretty much at the top of the hillclimbing scale (all very good mind) but i'm more interested in the other mixed stuff on the brayspeed site [:D] .

And Prescott's such a great place to go - such scenery and occasion. Same with Shelsley [:D]

    Welsh hillclimb

Mike .... your Welsh hillclimb is Llys Y Fran which is down near Haverfordwest, it`s a great little hill up the side of the reservoir. Is run by Swansea Motor Club and forms part of a double header weekend with a Llandow sprint during the Summer.

This hill was my first ever competitive event with my Mk1 Golf back in 2000 and whilst you don`t get the all day action of a track day it`s more than worth it for the challenge. I`ve also done Wiscombe and Gurston - great venues.

Agree with Chris re. Prescott, spent a good day`s spectating there a few years ago, not too far from you.

Then he got shipped over to Saigon for a few months with work.

yes shelsley up in worcester a great venue been there a few times over the years.i love the heritage of the hills originally up old farm tracks timed on stopwatches at the drop of a flag, balls out! lloyds grandfather used to sprint at prescot back in the day, one of the corners is named after him 'allards leap' if i remember correctly ive heard this story so many times!

i did enter in a non timed event at prescot 2 years ago run by the csma and cirencester car club but unfortunatly the mk1 wasnt finished by then.i was so fed up i didnt even go although i was offerd a few passanger runs in different cars by the organisers, wish i had now!

has club gti thought about an event on one of the hills im sure there would be a lot of support price was 20 for 2 runs then any extras 5 per run max of 6 extra on the booking form and possibilities of more on the day due to space. maybe even hire the place or somewhere simular for the day a bit like the curbourgh format:thumbup:

Was over at Shelsley in Oct. Walked/ambled to the top & took about 28 mins... Hill record's at about 23 secs, lol !

I had a look at Prescott after seeing the Peugeot day there in late July a couple of years back, where they all drove the hill (205 T16 was worth a watch [:D]). Hire fees were in the 2k category, but I think it would be a nice one to do if the numbers stacked up.

never done the school at gurston but ive won the gurston championship before! also i drove one of the instructors cars (tim pitfield, mallock) with him a few times and beat him.(he didnt mind, good old friend:lol: )
both shellsley and prescot are both lovely hills but you try getting an entry at shellsley and have you seen the price of entries at prescot!!!
i personally spend most of my time at gurston and wiscombe. wiscombe is my fav although it may have something to do with winning the championship there this year...nice trophy and 300 to boot!
