Jolfa, there isn't any on ebay at all mate. Ive been searching through for the last half hour and theres not one there. Theres one baby blue MK2, a dark blue and 2 Helios blue MK2's, but no stratos blue MK2's...

If i have accidently missed them please give me the ebay item numbers for the both of them? Nice one!

Ok no worries... Yea i think i'd have the blue over the Atlas grey too mate, but i still haven't come to a decision yet...Ive only ever seen two tho mate , which was why i described it as rare. Haven't seen any at the big meets like inters ect... Have you got the ebay item numbers for the stratos blue mk2s you found

tbh if the paintwork on yours is as mint as you say it is then keep it, that's what'll make yours stand out from your mates.

I can see your point mate. If i could find another MK2 in that strato blue metalic colour, i would buy it straight away. Jolfa said there were two for sale on ebay but i cant find them??? [:s]
It would save the hassle of spraying mine i suspose, plus i would have two of the greatest cars in the World LOL  ;) , and would love to own two MK2's in my favorite colours- blue and black:thumbup: ) , but i really like that colour.

At the end of the day guys, tbh, the colour i decide to choose will be my own choice, and a colour which i think looks great, not what other people consider to be good .

Hopefully i do come across and find a 3 door shell in stratos Blue. I wont get rid of the black one tho, will most likely keep it, garage it, and use it as my weekend toy as ive spent loads on it already and cant wait till its finally finished.

If anyone see's one for sale anywhere, on ebay or anything else, try let me know please. It'll be much appreciated. And Jolfa, try send me them 2 ebay item numbers that you found:thumbup:

i used to have a mk2 gti in stratos blue, but ended up stripping it and scrapping the shell. Still regret it to this day. I've only seen a handful of gti's in that colour over the past few years.

Cheers mate:thumbup: , but there old c -reg's,:thumbd: both 4 doors,:thumbd: and i only tend to go for 3 door MK2's. Plus my bro's one was a mint F-reg, with no rust, and which came with the 90spec doors from factory, and not the quarter windows.

So the search still continues for a well looked after 90spec stratos Blue 3 door...

Its true, ive only ever seen 2 on the road, my brothers mint one above, and the old guy down the road with his GL 4 door... There really isn't many about, especially a mint, well looked after one!

I bet you wish you'd kept it now mate... Hopefully i can find a nice example soon though.

There's one being broken on the no-rice forum, you could see if he wants to get rid of the shell? Its a 3dr driver and looks the same colour that you're after, would be cheaper than a full body respray

Big windows (asin without the quarter lights) were introduce in 1988, it's not a '90 spec' thing.

I'll be mighty surprised if you find a 90 spec one, given that it's a pre 1990 colour...
