Apparently this is being launched in S.A in next 2 weeks...... works out at around 8grandish in propa money. I dunno what they are doing with it - alloys are absolute puke to start with lol - anyway, I'm just hosting the pics. thoughts ? oh . it's a 1.8 8v by the way.
I quite like the Polo S2000 4x4 rallycar on the right of the first picture though the new Golf looks 'ok'. Like the fact the Mk1's still here OE style mirrors now relocated I see.
I like how the key selling features are the cd player and floor mats and silver pedals Doesnt do it for me. Bumper is too square, alloys just look wrong on the car, interior is boring, there is a stupid go faster line by the back window, and it has too many doors.... The grille is fine, the engine is nice and the back end is acceptable apart from those horrible lights.
I like it. However it reminds me of the last of the beetles with those huge elephants feet of rear lamps, Rostyle copys and big bumpers.... 'jeans' edition anyone?
cant see how it can be utter toss when its basically a mk1 which is a legend of a car but thats just my opinion i quite like it....few lil bits are bit pants but overall id have it
I quite like it, not so sure about the new bumpers think I preferred the old ones, although not enough to keep my own on and not swap them for small ones would'nt mind the single piece front windows though. Shame they didn't put this one they made into production.
SA Golfs always have been, or at least for a long time. Saw one in a scrapper in the UK some years ago.
I like it! Too many car manufacturers are going for the same 'modern' look... Then again its probably a different market in S.A. Still good to see a retro ride though. Its only the interior that would put me off. I dont think it suits the old lines of the car tbh. What looks like a new polo dash and seats, mk3 stalks, and other odd bits. Does anyone know why they left the brake servo on the right like the mk1? Is it a mk1 shell and chassis? I would have thought if it was being built for a right hand drive country, they would have had the servo directly behind the pedal box, unless space was tight.
