I'm sure they can be made to sound nice, but from driving my missus' 130 TDI it just doesn't sound all that. I know at the end of the day engine noise doesn't really matter, but I got my other half to overtake me at full bore whilst I was driving her golf, and she was in the VR, and the noise sent shivers down my spine. It sounds so different to what you hear whilst driving.
Totally agree. A VR on full chat is awesome. The V10 diesel should nice with a free-flowing exhaust!!!!
